Decorating my Erin Condren Life Planner (click here for $10 off your first order) has become a weekly ritual which I really enjoy. I use my planner as a combination to-do list a journal, and it’s really fun to look back at the past weeks and see what was doing. It’s also really fun having a cute planner to look at every day (much better then google calendar, which I was using previously).
My job gives me little bits of down time in between work, and one of my favorite ways to fill that time is looking for cute stickers on Etsy! I became obsessed with my Christmas spread a couple weeks before thanksgiving. I was really inspired by a beautiful decorate-your-own-Christmas-Tree set by VintageGypsyRoad and decided to build the rest of my spread around it. I also got her vintage Christmas scene full boxes, which I think add a classic and beautiful touch to the spread
Finding just the right kit to go along with these decorative elements wasn’t easy. It took me a couple of weeks to find just the right kit (the kit i chose was by SundayPalmPlanner) That being said, if you look at the final result you’ll notice I didn’t use much from that kit, just the headers and some of the full boxes with room in the middle. I planned to use more of the kit, but it just didn’t work out. During the actual PWM I decided I didn’t like the checklists it came with and stole checklists from a GlamPlanner Kit was planning to use for NewYears. (Guess I gotta figure something out for that spread before next week, huh?)
I edited it out for time, but I ended up putting the regular full boxes and full boxes with room the middle down on a few of the days before I remembered the vintage scenes full boxes I had. Luckily I was able to pull the stickers up without much difficulty and fix it! If you look at the sheets of full boxes in the video you’ll notice that they look like they were removed and stuck back down. Now you know why. 😉
Through all of the indecisiveness and mishaps, I’m really pleased with how this spread came out. Not only is it different then then other spread I’ve done, but because I cultivated all of the elements instead of using a pre-made kit I feel like it reflects me a little better then my past spreads. I think the differences are going to take time to get used to, though. Bright colors really light up my day, but I gravitate towards softer colors and looks. Hopefully I can learn to pull in both elements and find my ideal planner look in the coming months.
So I’m betting you’re ready to actually see the spread and watch the video, right?
