Who likes nails that chip the day after you paint them? No one? Awesome! This is the review for you.
I’m busy. I don’t have time to paint my nails every 4 days. Or even every week sometimes. I also don’t like the idea of having to soak off gel nails. Granted, I haven’t tried real gel nails, but I have had acrylics. Acrylics are a pain to take off and I hear that gel nails are basically the same process only it takes an hour instead of three. No thank you!
When Influenster first sent me the XCEL Formula X system I was a little skeptical. I’ve used Formula X systems before and I wasn’t impressed. But I figured free products are free products, so I couldn’t complain. Plus they included Formula X Delete All, a 5 finger at-a-time nail polish remover which I was was excited to try.
I will fully admit I was wrong. The XCEL system from formula X is my new holy grail nail system. I first tried it with the color that Influenster sent me, “TGIF,” which was distinctly not a good shade for my skin tone or personality. (I’m just not a bright, summery polish sort of girl. Give me a good black or purple any day, I’m all over it!)
I noticed about 5 days in the polish had cracked but wasn’t chipping. I actually cut my nails at the 7 day mark because one of them broke, but surprisingly apart from the cracking (which wasn’t noticeable from a distance) they still looked great. I put a second layer of the shine top coat on my nails and they lasted another 6 days without chipping.
The read test was if it worked with non-Formula X nail polishes, so I decided to give a polish from Zoya a try. Zoya is my favorite polish brand, after all.
At the time of writing this I’ve been wearing the polish for six days. I put a second layer of shine top coat on 2 days after I did the original mani and apart from a little nail growth and shrinkage at the tips the mani still looks perfect. That’s 6 days later!
And let’s not forget about the Delete All nail polish remover. I thought the nail polish remover tubs that had a spot for one finger were amazing. I no longer had to bother with nail polish remover and cotton rounds. Delete All is about 100 times easier then that! Just stick your ringers in, let them soak for about 30 seconds, rub them back and forth and remove your fingers. Apart from maybe needing a small touch up that’s it! Super easy.
