The White Chocolate Chip palette is one of the newest installments in the Too Faced chocolate line. The line, in my opinion, has had some hits and missed, so let’s see how this mini version holds up.
The palette is TINY, as you might think from the “chip” in the title. It’s the size of my palm, though I will admit I have big hands. The Palette itself is made of plastic with a physical clasp (magnets) holding it together. The hinge works smoothly and will hold the palette open at any angle. The inside top of the palette is entirely mirror, which makes it great to use while traveling.
The palette holds 11 shadows, which are a mix of mattes of and shimmers. The light off white-color (or pale girl nude, as I call it in my head) is double the size of the rest of the shadows. The shadows were intended to be used for day-looks, so most of the shadows have light-medium tones with a black in there to darken up looks if need be.
The quality of the shadows themselves is…interesting. Watch my video review below to see what I mean in person. When swatched the pigments aren’t great on a vast majority of the shadows and at first I thought the palette would be a complete dud. Then I tried them on, and which it wasn’t the best eyeshadow experience I’ve ever had, it definitely wasn’t the worst either. I was able to get decent color payoff without much effort, and a little more layering helped a lot.
I think the big key to making these shadows pop is primer. They still aren’t the best quality shadows on the market, but they’re decent, the selection is good for a variety of day-looks and the packaging is perfect for travel. For that reason I recommend this palette if you’re looking for a compact travel palette, but otherwise I’d pass on it.
If you’ve tried the palette, let me know what you think down below!
