GenBeauty LA 2017 is upon us, how exciting!
I actually wont be attending this time around since I was just in San Francisco for GenBeauty in November, but the booth lineup looks pretty awesome this time around! There are a lot of great returning booths and new booths (or at least new to me) that I definitely would want to check out if I were there.
As somewhat of a GenBeauty veteran, here are my picks for the GenBeauty LA 2017 booths you definitely should check out (and the ones to skip). Keep in mind this is my opinion and is based on past experience and educated guesses for the new brand booths.
If you’re at GenBeauty 2017 please let me know what booths were good, and which were only so-so. It’s great knowledge for us all to have!
Returning Booths To Check Out
Smashbox -Smashbox usually does a great job in all aspects of their booth. In the past they’ve give away multiple full-size products and done makeup touchups, professional headshots and a photo booth. Pretty awesome if you ask me!
DermaE – DermaE is a great natural skincare brand all around. At past GenBeauty’s they’ve done a free skin analysis using a machine that analyses the condition of the different layers of your Skin. It’s pretty cool and you’d usually have to pay a pretty penny at a dermatologist’s office for the same thing. During the analysis they’ve given out a TON of free samples plus full size products and deluxe samples. And for the beauty creators out there, they’re PR team is amazing and definitely a good connection to make.
Pur~Lisse – Pur~Lisse if definitely a booth you want to check out if you like skincare. In the past they’ve given away a 6-pack of sheet masks.
Make Up For Ever – Make Up For Ever has great products, and have been known to give away full-size products at GenBeauty. Enough said.
Marc Anthony – Great brand, fun booth experience, great products to try.
New Booths To Keep an Eye On
Yes To – Yes To is a great drugstore brand, and I’ve never seen them at GenBeauty before. I don’t know what they’re doing at their booth, but it should be worth checking out.
Flirt – Have you seen that crazy-looking lash gun gloating around social media? It kinda looks like a white-out take dispenser, but instead of dispensing white out it dispenses false lashes. And yes, Flirt is the company who makes it.
Double Dare – I’ll be honest, I’ve never heard of this brand and had a hard time finding product reviews online. The Double Dare cosmetics line is limited in the types of products they have, but they have a good selections of the ones they do carry. I’d definitely check them out. Bonus: because the brand isn’t well known there isn’t likely to be a huge line at the booth.
Booths to Skip
Tarte – Every year Tarte is a biggest letdown at GenBeauty. Don’t get be wrong, it’s a great brand, but with the high price of the ticket and the other booths giving away full size products, Tarte just hasn’t been keeping up. In San Fransisco they gave away a full sized mascara and even had enough for everyone, but in the past they’ve given away deluxe samples and run out before the first hour was over. They do offer some great discounts if you want to shop, but with all the free makeup you’ll be getting I don’t see the point in standing in line for 45 minutes to get a 20% discount.
Benefit – I LOVE benefit’s brow products, but they’re GenBeauty booths have lately been kinda disappointing. I can’t pinpoint exactly what turns me off about their GenBeauty booths….I’ve gotten some free makeup to try out there is the past. Overall I think the actual reps (not the makeup artists) have an “I’m better then you” vibe. Some booths are packed even after the brand runs of free product, but not Benefit. I feel bad saying this (because, again, I think Benefit is a great brand) but they really need to re-work their GenBeauty booth.
Well, those are my picks for the GenBeauty LA 2017 booths to check out and skip. Do you agree? Let me know in the comments!
